The Story So Far
Near Human is an edge AI startup based at the Bristol Robotics Laboratory. We build safety systems for micromobility — the e-scooters, e-bikes, and shared fleets that move people through cities — using computer vision and on-device intelligence rather than cloud round-trips.
Awards and shortlists from organisations like Innovate UK and EIT Urban Mobility, partnerships with operators such as Dott and Voi, pilot announcements, research recognition, and the press coverage that comes with it. If you want the short version of what we're working on right now, the cards below are the best place to start.
New stories land here first. For deeper writing on edge AI, trustworthy autonomy, and how intelligent systems should be designed around people, the Insights section is where longer-form pieces live. For partnerships, pilots, or press enquiries, get in touch.
